Summer salad recipes for outdoor occasions

Summer is here and the season of keeping meals light and fresh is a must! We love salads and know that they certainly don’t need to be bland. Summer salad recipes compliment grilled meat, fish or chicken plus they come in handy when you are hosting a barbecue or outdoor occasion.

We often get asked about how to keep salads interesting.  This ‘special tip’ request is often from those who seek to consume more salad as a New Years Resolution “diet”.  I’m no dietician so I’m not about to walk into that trap but for those who do want to know my thoughts, I believe that if you cook with what’s in season, use a multitude of colours, spices and good oils, you’ll get the result you’re looking for: Fresh. Light. Tasty. Good for you.

Even with the ease of salad free-styling, sometimes a good recipe is required for the Summer entertaining occasion. Following are the most popular summer salad recipes from the myfoodbook website.
