Fry up a batch of easy bubble and squeak patties

Bubble and squeak is an traditional English dish made with leftover vegetables and fried in a shallow pan to create a yummy, often round, hash-brown-like dish. Bubble and squeak is the perfect vessel for leftover veggies. Use any veggie you enjoy most and blend with peas and mashed potato, for example. Then, all you need to do is coat in breadcrumbs, flour and egg to make your pattie and you have an easy and quick lunch, breakfast, or even dinner recipe.

This dish, filled with McCain Corn and peas, tastes wonderful by itself, but you can serve it with eggs and bacon for a hearty breakfast, a delicious side salad for a lovely lunch or serve the bubble and squeak with your favourite meat for an easy mid-week dinner.

A delicious bubble and squeak recipe to try

This recipe is made using McCain Corn and Peas as part of the 2017 Foodbank Shop & Share project.  Pick up a bag of McCain Corn and McCain Peas when you shop at Woolworths in July, and the team at McCain will donate the same product directly to Foodbank.  You shop – they share!
