Throughout July, Foodbank is teaming up with Woolworths and 15 of Australia’s top food brands to help put food on the table for those in need as part of its Shop & Share campaign. It may surprise many to read that each year two million Australians don’t know where their next meal will come from. Luckily, Foodbank is striving to help those two million Aussies by providing them with much-needed food supplies.
What does Foodbank do?
Foodbank is the largest food relief organisation in Australia, providing over 172,000 meals a day to assist suffering Australians, a third of whom are children. Foodbank is fighting against hunger and helping to solve a significant problem for many. Watch how it all works, here.
How can you help Foodbank feed those in need?
It’s super easy. During July, every time you visit a participating Woolworths store, keep your eyes peeled for the orange-and-purple Foodbank signage that points out Shop & Share products. Each time you purchase a Shop & Share item, a donation will be triggered to Foodbank – who will then provide items to those who need them. Simple.
Which brands are helping out?
Household food brands Ardoma, Devondale, John West, Chicken Tonight, Old El Paso, Vetta, McCain Foods Australia, Helga’s, SunRice, SPC, Primo, Continental, Sanitarium and Woolworths will donate an extra 1 million food items.
