After similar and extremely popular pop-ups in New York and Amersterdam, it is Sydney’s turn to experience a cafe dedicated to avocados. For the month of November the Good Fat by Australian Avocados has opened at 355 Crown Street in Surry Hills giving avo lovers a delicious eating destination. The Good Fat is being fronted by Sydney Chef Liam Crawley who has created a stunning menu of 20 dishes.
We were lucky enough to be invited to The Good Fat and get an inside look at what this avocado heaven has to offer.
The menu is an avocado lover’s dream. Each dish has been created to showcase the versatility of the avocado. There is more you can do with an avo than just your standard avo on toast – which is still delicious!
All meals will be under $20 and customers will get the opportunity to take the recipes home and recreate all the dishes in the comfort of their own home.
Avocado lovers can expect stunning desserts like an AvoConetto ice cream and a breakfast smoothie served in avocado skin. There is also your oh-so popular smashed avo with Vegemite on sourdough toast, a delicious grilled thick cut avo and melted brie cheese toast called the Fat Avo Tostada, chunky smashed avo with poached eggs and baby herbs, a mouth-watering golden crumbed fried avo balls, sweet miso and wasabi glazed pork cutlet with finely chopped avo, mango, red onion, coriander salsa and spring leaves and a seared beef eye fillet with chunky avo, tarragon and lemon bearnaise salsa.
